Department’s mission statement

The mission of the Department of Civil Engineering, guided by the educational philosophy of the Neapolis University Pafos, is the pursuit of excellence in teaching and research in order to serve wider social needs.

To accomplish its mission, the Department of Civil Engineering

• Encourages and supports rigorous academic research and innovative teaching in all the fields of study it offers.
• Creates an academic environment that promotes and rewards the free, lasting, active and innovative intellectual quest for teachers and students.
• Cultures programs that meet local and national needs and cooperates with other public and private stakeholders to promote economic growth and alleviate ignorance, poverty and injustice.
• Is constantly striving to promote actions that, by applying its intellectual and moral heritage, work for the benefit of society as a whole.
• Welcomes students, faculty and staff of all social strata and different beliefs, and creates a social feeling that facilitates their development and strengthens their aspirations for a successful career.

The offered by the Department BSc in Civil Engineering programme along with the newly established MSc in Structural Robustness for Extreme Loading Conditions programme, reflect the Department's desire to develop interdisciplinary courses and to utilize existing know-how and research for the benefit of the economy and society. The Department belongs organically to the School of Architecture, Engineering, Land and Environmental Sciences. The School also offers a Bachelor & Diploma in Architecture and a BSc in Real Estate Valuation and Development. It also offers postgraduate programs such as a Master of Landscape Architecture, a Master in Real Estate, an MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment and Sustainability Management and a Master in Digital Video Production. All these programmes will contribute to building the School's research capacity by attracting academics with extensive experience in teaching, research and professional implementation.
